GiftedMinds Neurodevelopment Centre formerly GiftedMinds Resource Centre Home Intervention Program was founded in 2020 by Peta-Gaye Forbes-Robinson, MBA, RBT (non-licensure), an author-The Autistic Prince: The Boy Who Prays Five Minutes Nightly, Autism Advocate during one of the most challenging seasons in recent history- the Covid-19 pandemic. What began as a deeply personal journey soon became a divine calling.

In that same year, Peta-Gaye’s son was diagnosed with autism. Like many parents, she was suddenly faced with the responsibility of navigating homeschooling, limited resources, and the emotional weight of understanding her child’s needs. At the time, she was employed as a Back Office Support Specialist at a major telecommunications company in Jamaica, uncertain of what the future would hold.

However, through spiritual guidance, mentorship, and a profound encounter with God, clarity emerged. However , the journey was not without setbacks. There were many difficult moments-times of starting over, pressing through uncertainty, and even contemplating giving up, Yet, after these seasons of challenge, a powerful encounter with God reignited the vision and catapulted her into a deeper level of purpose, determination, and action. Out of that renewed calling, GiftedMinds continued to grow-this time with even greater clarity and strength.

In this new season, Peta-Gaye was divinely aligned and miraculously joined in partnership with her God-sister, DeAndra Ferguson-Brown, a Registered Nurse, Midwifery, and Psychiatrist, who also brings lived experience as a mother of a child on the autism spectrum. This partnership has strengthened the foundation of GiftedMinds, combining professional expertise with shared passion and understanding.

GiftedMinds was built not only from training and knowledge, but from lived experience and a deep awareness of the gaps that exist for families navigating autism. These experiences have led to the development of structured, intentional programs designed to meet real needs-particularly in the areas of school readiness, developmental support, advocacy, and functional independence.

Today, Peta-Gaye’s son is 10 years old and has graduated from GiftedMinds Neurodevelopment Centre and thriving independently within a primary school setting and has a YouTube program- The Brave Boy Show- a testament to what is possible with the right support, consistency, and belief.

At GiftedMinds, we honor the work of others in this space, recognizing that everyone has a role in building an inclusive society. At the same time, we are confident in the unique approach and foundation upon which this center stands-one that integrates practical strategies, lived experience, professional insight and biblical believes.
